Sclerotherapy is a treatment of varicose veins with a diameter between 1 and 4 mm. Contrary to known, every varicose vein is not treated with sclerotherapy.
In sclerotherapy, we give a substance in the veins, which are very thin, with insulin injectors. This stuff will cause the vessel to close.
Everybody has the following question. Is the closed vessel no longer in use? The veins we treat for our varicose veins are already useless. So there’s no harm. We are practically treating varices with sclerotherapy with diameters between 1 and 4 mm.
Time is totally dependent on the patient. In a very limited area, a patient with lesser varicose veins may have a half-hour treatment. But those who are common in two legs may need to come up to 6 times, up to 7 times.
After sclerotherapy, the patient can walk home. It is a treatment performed in the practice or outpatient clinic and the patient does not need to rest.
After the procedure, there is no discomfort and if there is rarely a slight pain in the patients with too much varicose vein, it disappears with a pain killer such as paracetamol. Although the injection site appears to be erased with eraser at first, there will be a slight redness and reaction in the field. Depending on the diameter of the vessel, sometimes bandages or varicose veins can be applied. The reaction in the vein and its complete disappearance will take a few weeks. It is important that patients are conscious and patient about this issue. Immediately after the application, patients can walk and return to their daily activities.
Redness and mild swelling at the injection site are expected. Allergic conditions are very rare, but the practice and practice of the physician will be important. The maximum daily dose should not be exceeded. Another important issue is skin infections, vascular infections and clots that may be caused by high drug concentrations or drug delivery outside the vein and color changes in the skin in the long term. For this reason, it should be applied by experienced physicians in this regard, both the patient and the physician should show patience and there should not be hasty approaches.
VeinOFF offers a unique treatment for varicose veins. The patient does not feel pain due to not receiving anesthesia. No trace. The cyanoacrylate glue with a small needle with a simple ablative polymerization method is used to seal varicose (non-functional) containers. This adhesive has been used as a safe medical adhesive for many years in other parts of the body.
